Our Broadway showroom has a room given over entirely to hand-knotted oriental rugs. Antique and vintage pieces sit alongside newer weaves, each one picked by hand for its colour, its character and the way it holds a room together.
We have been part of Broadway and the wider Cotswolds since 1942, and the rug room has quietly become one of the corners of the shop people come back for.
What you will find
The selection changes as pieces come and go: room-size rugs, hallway runners, smaller mats and the occasional tribal piece with a story behind it. No two visits are quite the same. If you are after something in particular, a size, a palette, a region, tell us and we will keep an eye out for you.
Why see them in person
Rugs are hard to judge from a screen. The weight of the pile, the way a colour shifts as you move around it, how it sits against a floor, none of that travels well in a photograph. So the rug room is somewhere to stand in, walk across and live with for a few minutes before you decide.
Visiting
You will find the rug room at our Broadway showroom during normal opening hours. There is no need to book. If you would like one of us to walk you through what is in at the moment, it is worth calling ahead so we can set time aside.
